RuneScape NXT client for Fedora

Note that nowadays there is also all kind of flatpaks and stuff to install this game, so this site might be a bit old fashioned. But if you want to install the client as an rpm package, here it is still!

RuneScape is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) created by Jagex Ltd.. Their Linux client allows you to play the game natively also in Ubuntu. The client is written in C++ and uses OpenGL rendering.

For reference, the Ubuntu client is available here: https://www.runescape.com/download.

Change log for the client seems to be here: https://www.runescape.com/nxtupdate.

It is possible to play also in other Linux distributions, if you use the same libraries as in Ubuntu. This Fedora rpm is created from the Ubuntu package.

I don't guarantee that the client will work in the future, but as of now it works fine. I try to keep the latest client up to date for the latest Fedora version (although you will find older versions of the client for older versions of Fedora in the repo).

Because the RuneScape client is proprietary, it isn't possible to host the package in Fedora offical package repositories. Nowadays it is also available as a flatpak.

To enable this RuneScape repository in Fedora:
